One Direction are saying bye bye to long lazy days in LA and quality time with their friends and family as they officially head back to work.

The band have been enjoying an extended break since the end of December following a crazy busy 2013, but today it’s back to business for the worldwide chart-toppers. Liam Payne announced the big news on Twitter today, telling his followers:

“Back to worrrrkkkkkkk!!! Feels like 1st day of school… Ready for the social not for the work aha”.

Liam’s bandmate Harry Styles was spotted jetting home to Blighty this week in time for a reunion with the boys, after spending much of his time off his LA. Journalist Piers Morgan revealed her was on the same flight as Hazza from LAX on Saturday.

The former Britain’s Got Talent judge tweeted: “I’m on the same flight as @Harry_Styles – bet he can’t believe his luck. #SameDirection”.

After enjoying their two and a half moth break, Harry also took to Twitter this week to announce the boys are back, tweeting: “Alrighty then… Back to work. Can’t wait to get into rehearsals back on the road.”

The band’s gigantic Where We Are stadium tour will kick off on April 25 in Bogota, Colombia, before heading around South America until mid-May.

From there, they’ll skip over to Europe for shows in Dublin, Sunderland, Manchester and at London’s Wembley Stadium.

Zayn Malik is apparently in really good shape. Not surprisingly, this motivates his fiancé to work out on a regular basis.

Little Mix singer Perrie Edwards said that her hunky husband-to-be often gives her that extra push she needs to hit the gym. The next time you want to skip out on your squats, think about what Zayn would do in that situation.

During her recent chat with We Love Pop magazine, Perrie said Zayn Malik is all the motivation Edwards needs when it comes to getting some exercise. Since the One Direction singer is looking pretty good these days, it’s not wonder that his fiancé doesn’t want to slack off when it comes to fitness.

“I’ve asked Zayn to [help me work out] because I’m really lazy and I need motivating but we never have time,” she recently explained.

She added, “I’ll walk up the stairs instead of getting the escalator or I’ll walk to the fridge and be like, ‘Yeah, that was good for me’.”

Staying in shape and keeping up with Zayn Malik isn’t the only worries on Perrie’s mind these days. According to Metro, she’s more than a little worried that some One Direction fans will end up hating her guts because she’s engaged to the singer. Since fans are an obsessive lot, she’s concerned they’ll develop some serious hatred for her existence.

Little Mix singer Jesy Nelson ruffled plenty of feathers when she suggested that “stupid little Zayn Malik fans” were spending too much time picking on Edwards. In an attempt to calm the waters, Perrie explained what Nelson meant by the comment.

“Basically, us four girls, we’re absolute best friends and we always have each other’s backs. If any of us feel like one of us is getting digged at or getting nasty comments, we will always stick up for each other,” Perrie explained.

She continued, “She just meant that people hating who are Zayn fans are being stupid… she did not mean every single Zayn fan — that would be daft! It was basically a massive misunderstanding.”

Although Zayn Malik and his fiancé are getting ready to tie the knot, it’s still unclear when the pair will walk down the aisle. Since Little Mix is on tour with Demi Lovato and One Direction is writing material for a new album, the singers definitely have their hands full at the moment.

Thousands of McFly and Busted fans are ludicrously excited for the big McBusted tour later this year, and it seems One Direction’s Niall Horan is one of them.

The boyband star reckons the setlist for the joint jaunt will be “amazing”, after chatting about it with Busted member James Bourne.

The star had also bumped into McFly’s Tom Fletcher and his writer wife Giovanna; and is clearly properly invested in the upcoming shows by the 00s pop idols.

He tweeted:

“I spoke to @JamesBourne and the mcfly lads the other night about the @mcbusted tour! Can’t f**king wait! Set list is gona be amazing”.

Niall saw the Fletchers at the Ellie Goulding O2 Arena show on Sunday (March 9) along with Cara Delevingne and Una Foden, and may have put in a cheeky request for Giovanna to make a particular sweet fave.

“Great to see you last night,” she tweeted adding that she has “made a note of your rocky road request!”

Tom added: “she only makes it when you’re over. Special treatment or what! Good to see you last night. Lets write! (sic)”.

The McBusted tour kicks off on April 17 in Glasgow, wrapping up in Dublin on June 2. It’ll include three dates at London’s O2 Arena, from April 24 to 26.

Fans of One Direction, The Beatles, Bob Marley and Green Day better book their tickets for Yateley’s annual music festival pretty quick.

The line-up for this year’s Gig on the Green was finally completed on March 11 and features top tribute acts With The Beatles, Trenchtown Experience, Only One Direction and Green-ish Day.

Headline act With The Beatles will replicate the magic of the Fab Four, belting out a full repertoire of famous songs from early tracks such as Please Please Me and Love Me Do right up to the likes of the seminal Hey Jude.

The popular music festival returns for a fourth year on June 28, featuring a line-up of regional bands, tribute acts and an opportunity for the under-18s to shine in its Y Factor competition.

The search to find the area’s most talented young people to take to the Gig on the Green stage starts with auditions at Yateley School in School Lane on April 26.

With three separate age categories, four finalists from each age group will be given the chance to perform live on the main stage in front of thousands of festival-goers.

Last year around 4,300 people attended – 800 more than the previous year – making it the most successful in the festival’s history.

This year organisers are expecting an audience of around 5,000.

The annual festival is organised by Yateley Sports CIC.

Its chairman Colin Ive said he was delighted with the progress the committee, made up entirely of volunteers, has made with the planning of this year’s extravaganza.

“We have some of the country’s top tribute bands in place with a cross section of music to suit all age groups,”he added.

“All in all it promises to once again be an outstanding event for our whole community to come along to and enjoy.

“As in previous years, all profits will be ploughed back into developing sports facilities in Yateley.”

Mr Ive said sponsorship is very important to the event and he thanked Romans Estate Agents for its continued support.

“In addition, new sponsorship from Hart Taxis has allowed us to provide even more opportunities for local musicians to perform,” he added.

“Another welcome sponsor is the Fleet and Camberley branches of McDonald’s which is sponsoring the Y Factor singing completion for children from school years 4 to 13.

“It’s a real chance for local singing talent to perform in front of around 5,000 people.”

Early bird tickets are now on sale via www.gigonthegreenyateley.co.uk .

Prices have been held for the fourth year running, with adult tickets at £15 and children aged eight to 17 at £10.

Well, this is one way to get kids involved with politics.

One Direction have partnered with Global Citizen — a social action network with a focus on extreme poverty — to offer fans the chance to win free concert tickets. All they have to do is perform a variety of tasks to earn points — including writing or calling politicians.

Here’s an awesome way to win tickets to the #WhereWeAreTour! Take action against poverty with @GlblCtznUK 1DHQ x

By logging onto the Global Citizen site, 1D fans can send letters to the UK’s finance minister George Osborne, the Prime Minister David Cameron and the Secretary of State for International Development Justine Greening, asking for a standing commitment to international development aid and to crack down on British corporations avoiding tax in other countries. Those letters help fans earn points toward the chance of winning tickets to see Harry Styles and co. in concert.

Britain currently devotes 0.7% of gross national income to the international development budget, though there has been recent backlash from some members of parliament who say that the money would be better spent within the U.K.

“With public opinion on development mixed, the email will urge the government not to cut funding, which would risk millions of lives around the world,” a Global Citizen spokesman told the Independent. “The letter will also encourage the government to crack down on company tax avoidance by British companies in the developing world, which hampers progress in those states.”

The insanely popular boy band aren’t the only acts to get involved with Global Citizen project. Katy Perry, Jessie J, Pearl Jam and Arcade Fire are also among the performers offering up concert tickets in exchange for social action by fans.

One Direction and Ed Sheeran are among more than 100 musicians offering free concert tickets to help combat poverty.

Fans can attend shows included in the Global Citizen Tickets scheme by earning points through activities which support the cause like signing petitions and sharing content online.

Several UK festivals are also backing the project.

Each ticket has a different point value and participants with enough points are entered into a lottery.

Katy Perry, Jessie J and Arcade Fire are among the acts supporting the project.

Global Citizen aims to help 1.2 billion people worldwide suffering from extreme poverty with the main issues including hunger and disease.

It also looks to improve gender equality, access to primary education, and the life expectancy of children.

According to Global Citizen, in 2010, 20.63% of the world’s population were living in extreme poverty.

The scheme, which is also being backed by John Newman and Russell Brand, already runs in Australia, New Zealand and America.

Emma Banks, chair of the UK Global Citizen Tickets initiative committee, said: “The Global Citizen Tickets initiative in the UK marks the culmination of a tremendous amount of hard work and foresight.

“I have no doubt that we will match the successes that this initiative has already enjoyed in the USA, something that could only have been achieved by our industry uniting for this very worthwhile cause.”

McBusted, The National and Chvrches are also among the names supporting the project.

Emma added: “Music brings people together from all over the world and has so often in the past been the catalyst for change.”

Other activities from contacting local MPs and volunteering with charities can also earn points towards tickets to shows including Bestival, Latitude and Reading and Leeds festivals.

Download, Lovebox, Wireless and Global Gathering are some of the other events which have also backed the Global Citizen project.
